He was a sophomore economics student at Binghamton University.
Vibrant and fun-loving, AJ loved hanging out with friends, working out at the gym, playing video games and D&D, and snowmobiling in winter with his dad and brother.
He had a sense of adventure and took a semester off to live in Japan where he worked on an organic farm, where he also developed a passion for anime.
AJ was a lead and supporting actor in a number of plays and musicals at Valhalla High School. He was also an avid and passionate writer from a young age and throughout his life.
The son of Dave and Rebecca Blide of Hawthorne and Sara Dannenbring and Kurt Myers of Valhalla, he is survived by brother Gavin and sister Sophia, grandparents Charlie and Toni Blide; Barbara Dannenbring; Lester Hornig; and Donna and Seymour Schimelman.
The wake will be at Hawthorne Funeral home in Hawthorne on Saturday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 4 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
A non-denominational funeral service will be held at Holy Rosary Church at 170 Bradhurst Ave, in Hawthorne on Monday, Feb. 5 at 10 a.m., with a reception to follow.
